What is the best hand soap to wash off engine oil and grease
Something that really works to clean this gunk out of your skin. And
where can you buy it?
I work on cars during the week & help out repairing commercial
class 6 sweeping equipment (20-26,000 pounds) & this stuff is messy.
I have tried damn near every possible hand cleaner you can think of. Lava,
goop, gojo, zep orange, fast orange, boraxo, kresto etc etc.
None of these clean better than this stuff called Mean Green. You will probably have to order it online, you can not get it in a store. its expensive, but it is what we use at work & my hands look SPOTLESS. You would never know I work on diesel trucks. Mean Green is the best soap we have found to date. After washing with mean green I use fast orange because it has a nice smell & it has aloe in it. We use this stuff called ''kresto'' at work as well. Its in a regular commerical wall dispenser & it is great for getting ur hands clean enough to deal with customers, pull a car out or eat lunch, but at the end of the day I clean up with mean green before going home. At home I have a ton of different stuff. The problem with goop/gojo is that, while they cut grease well, they dont have enough ''pumice'' in them to get into the crevices of ur skin. Lava/fast orange are too liquidy. Actually, if you want to get away on the cheap, dawn & some regular sugar cleans pretty well. Dawn cuts grease & the sugar acts as a mild abrasive. Jim
There is always gojo orange but you have to scrub. The best
thing I have found is Boyd is Ultra Violet hand cleaner. Also a cheap
alternative is Ajax and dish detergent. Hope this helps.
if you are working with cars and you have transmission fluid
handy wash your hands with it first and then any soap after that. trans.
fluid has detergents that will get the worst grease off of you and washes
off easily with any soap. Goop also works well and you can buy it at any
parts store.
We use Fast Orange & it seems to work the best - but I have
also used SoftScrub w/ bleach. yes it is bleach but It works for that.
just one
Use brake cleaner....its so good to clean
orange goop
PREMATEX WITH LANOLIN, IT HAS A KEROSINE BASE AND WILL EVEN GET
RID OF YOUR MOTHER IN-LAW IF NEEDED. BUY AUTO ZONE,MURRAY'S ETC,ETC.
For light grease and oil, I find dish soap works great. Yeah,
plain ol' dish soap. It might make your hands feel a bit dry afterwards
though.
Go Joe.
Dishwashing detergent is one of the best grease cutting soaps
available. However, most of the 'hand cleaners' sold in auto parts stores
are very good grease/grime removers too.
Fast Orange works well.
Fast orange with pumice.
